Painting tips

It is already painted, so you don't need primer. Usually, primer is only for bare wood or metal. And no reason to strip it. Just sand it a bit. I said A BIT to give the paint a surface to adhere to. Your can of paint will have more directions for you to follow.
Colors and finish are a personal preference and depend on your bedroom decor and furnishings. If you don't like "hideous peach", why not go with a flat black? Or a deep sienna?
Painted furniture can look great. Pick up a magazine at the supermarket that shows lots of photos of furniture and see what is current in the design world.

You can spray paint it.

I had wicker furniture in my bedroom when I was in high school. I designed the whole room like an art gallery, so I painted the furniture to match. It came out really good and the paint stuck.
So maybe spray paint it white? It would look nice with the cherry wood and you could get a changing pad that is the same "theme" color as far as the sheets and such go.

I have a nice, simple hardwood headboard that I never use because it is a lighter wood than the rest of my bedroom furniture (they are not all matching, but they are all an espresso like color). Its a really simpe design. Just a rectangle with two squares beveled inside of it does that make sense? Kind of like a two panel door) What is the best of painting this?

    • This is a good one Michele.Because of the minor intricate design and cut this has the potential to be a difficult task,It is not though. I will give you some sites to refer to for the sake of typing all you need to know, other wise I would be there with working alongside with you.Best of success keep us all posted please.
